Bonterra Mendocino Zinfandel / Organic Red Wines
Bonterra - 2007
California's USP and it's as big, expressive and amenable as you'd expect
Bonterra Zinfandel is from vines with an average age of 35-40 years old. Winemaker Bob Blue says "it's a wine we try not to manipulate much because the fruit from these exceptional vineyards simply doesn't need it. Our biodynamic Butler ranch contributes Zinfandel and Petite Sirah to the blend. We've tamed the wine a bit without losing any of the rich aromas of red raspberry and brambly fruit with a touch of white pepper and cedar spice. This remains the Zen of Zin."
