2009 vintage is widely acclaimed as 'the vintage of the century'. Purchased in limited quantity - en primeur summer 2010
Deep opaque colour. On the nose it offers classic notes of delicate graphite, subtle smoke and fruit-forwardness for such a youthful vintage.
The palate is multidimensional with integrated fine grape & oak tannins, plumy fruit forwardness and with a balanced to high alcohol. Lush and very fleshy with a refreshing acidity giving it superb drinkability & ageability. Drink 2012-2020

The first vintage of a new wine launched by François Despagne of Château Grand Corbin-Despagne (St Emilion) who owns a tiny 1 hectare plot of old Merlot vines in the smallest of Bordeaux's major appellations, Pomerol. A rare opportunity to purchase a classic Pomerol from an artisan quality-conscious producer. Total production only 300 cases.
