AOC Minervois La Touge Syrah Domaine Maris / Organic Red Wines
An enticing, very ripe Syrah with succulent blueberry and plum fruits which are perfectly integrated with soft, spicy tannins.
"This is a good example of Minervois: less scented, burlier than it used to be, but supported by a big whack of superripe fruit and balanced enough to be a pleasure to drink. It's certainly superripe, bursting at the seams with prunes and figs and black plums coated in carob and chocolate, seasoned with brown sugar, but this is thankfully harshened by the rough rasp of herbs, then mellowed by the bright freshness of blackberries."
